    • Both 4e and 4f were more volatile than other products and significant amounts of these products were found to be lost during evaporation of the solvent under reduced pressure. The yields of these compounds were therefore determined by GLC. The analysis, which was performed just after the completion of electrolysis, showed that the electrolyte of 1d and 1c had already generated the pyrrolopyridine 4d and the pyrrolopyrrole 4c, respectively.
