23. Tiihonen J: Quantitative risk assessment of homicidal behaviour. J Forensic Sci 1995; 6:477-485. One of a trio of papers exploring the causal roots of repetitive homicide. The authors of this paper discussed methodology.
24. Eronen M, Hakola P, Tiihonen J: Factors associated with homicide recidivism in a 13-year sample of homicide offenders in Finland. Psychiatr Serv 1996; 47:403-406. The universe of Finnish offenders who murder more than once was examined to establish causality. Its findings may lack applicability to other national groups.
25. Tiihonen J, Hakola P, Nevalainen A, Eronen M: Risk of homicidal behaviour among persons convicted of homicide. Forensic Sci Int 1995, 72:43-48. The last of three papers examining repetitive homicides. The authors of this paper discussed risk factors.
26. Junginger J: Command hallucinations and the prediction of dangerousness. Psychiatr Serv 1995; 46:911-914. The author elucidated the circumstances under which command hallucinations are most likely to lead to violence.
27. Mullen PE: Jealousy and violence. Hong Kong J Psychiatry 1995, 5:18-24. A thorough discussion of jealousy as a contributing cause of homicide. The author showed the complexities of the subject.
28. West DJ: Murder followed by suicide Cambridge, MA: Harvard University Press; 1967.
29. Milroy CM: Reasons for homicide and suicide in episodes of dyadic death in Yorkshire and Humberside. Med Sci Law 1995; 35:213-217 The author examined the universe of homicide-suicides, rare events, in a large geographic area.
30. Felthous AR, Hempel A: Combined homicide-suicides: a review. J Forensic Sci 1995; 40:846-857. The authors presented an exhaustive meta-analysis of this subject accompanied by a good discussion of conceptual models.
31. Tardiff K: The current state of psychiatry in the treatment of violent patients. Arch Gen Psychiatry 1992; 49:493-499.
32. Hambridge JA: Treating mentally abnormal killers in a regional secure unit: some suggested guidelines. Med Sci Law 1994; 34:237-242.
