    • Amano PS-catalyzed acylation of 3 with vinyl acetate [petroleum ether:benzene (2:1), 25 °C, 96 h] at 45% conversion gave a mixture of diacetate, 2-acetoxy-3-hydroxy, and 2-hydroxy-3-acetoxy derivatives in 5.2, 30.2, and 10.2%, respectively, as seen by PMR, indicating a poor regioselectivity.
