    • In complex mixtures containing lipids (e.g., tissue or cell homogenates), acetone (10:1 volume ratio) precipitation may be preferable to ultrafiltration. Acetone-precipitated proteins should be spun gently to prevent pellet compaction and resuspended in 50 mM potassium phosphate, pH 7.8, for overnight trypsinolysis as described in text.
