Improved Survivability with Multi-Layer Dynamic Routing: Just as dynamic traffic routing improves network survivability by rerouting calls around failed traffic paths, the cross-connect layer can utilize dynamic routing methods to re-route failed trunk groups over alternate paths of surviving inter-DCS links. This layered network framework can be used to enhance survivability by considering combinations of dynamic routing at the different layers
