    • The tripeptide aldehyde benzyloxycarbonyl-Leu-Leu-leucinal has been shown to induce neurite outgrowth in PC12 rat pheochromocytoma cells, and the 20S proteasome was suggested as a target of the compound However, neurite outgrowth in response to this tripeptide aldehyde could also be due to inhibition of another protease. Although lactacystin inhibits growth of PC12 cells, it does not appear to induce neurite outgrowth in this cell line (2)
