We cannot measure the partial pressure of impurities in the expansion chamber while in operation but, because of the cryopumping action of the helium temperature shroud they must be very low. Since the expansion path before reaching the skimmer is also very short (<2 cm) we do not believe that we are working with ‘dirty’ droplets.
