    • Reduction of 1-octen-3-one gave a mixture of alcohols in the ratio of 80:20 predominating in the expected allylic alcohol. During this reduction the reaction mixture developed a deep blue color indicating a possible single electron transfer process. We are actively exploring the details of this reaction.
