- The chloroform extractive showed a chromatogram almost identical in regard to resin glycoside, to that of “jalapin” obtained by Mayor's method (extraction by ether). “Jalapin” contains considerable amounts of contaminants such as coloring matters and triglycerides which disturb the subsequent Chromatographic separation of the resin glycosides. Therefore, the chloroform extractive was used in place of ether extractive “jalapin”.
