- Experiments carried out at the Institut de Recherches Scientifiques sur le Cancer, Villejuif, France by C. Frayssinet and Christiane Frayssinet showed that the LD50 (i.p., male mice) was 15–20 mg/kg. Doses of 50–100 mg/kg caused prostration and an atonic posture. The prostration would be interrupted for a few seconds by opisthotonoid seizures which could be brought about by noise or a tap on the cage. Death followed within a few hours. At doses of 10 mg/kg convulsions were replaced by simple contractions and the state of prostration by equilibrium disorders during movement.
