    • When one numerically evaluates the effects of the noise due to dielectric losses and of the noise due to the spontaneous temperature fluctuations of the detector, one finds that the former predominates for present-day pyroelectric materials.
    • While it would not be difficult to take these spontaneous temperature fluctuations into account, it would be useless to do so since their contribution to the over-all noise of the system can be neglected for all practical purposes.
