    • The objective for the advanced light source (ALS) is to produce about [formula omitted] photons per second per 0.1% bandwidth. At 10 keV this corresponds to 320‐mW average power in the 10‐eV bandwidth that would approximate the width of a single K line. However, this assumes operation of the ALS with the 1.9‐GeV wiggler that represents the most advanced configuration being proposed. Even then, outputs are projected to fall rapidly with increasing energies above 30 keV.
