    • Equations (5) and (14) are not in contradiction since 〈(Formula presented)〉 in (5) is defined in the framework of the linear-response approximation. A demonstration of the Arrhenius law (14) using projection operator formalism can be found in W. Weidlich and H. Grabert, Z. Phys. B 36, 283 (1980), and it can be shown that the linear approximation of the stochastic equation obtained by this last formalism is equivalent to the Mori equation from which Eq. (5) is derived (see Ref. 5).
