note
-
Cis-chelating ligands such as bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane, BINAP, and DIOP were ineffective for the synthesis of the helical polymers in the palladium-catalyzed polymerization of diisocyanobenzenes. For instance, use of the DIOP ligand with (cyclooctadiene)bromo(methyl)palladium(II) complex in the reaction of Ia resulted in the fast formation of unidentifiable polymeric compound.
