Sexuality and Feminism: Some Notes on their Australian History
-
Feminists' critique of male sexuality as threatening, when some lesbians adopted a masculine style or gender identity, may also have discouraged involvement. Further, feminists' suspicion of sex and their condemnation of young women's flaunting of sexual desire as a betrayal of the feminist cause for women's advancement and independence no doubt alienated many younger women.
