    • Formula (2.4) for the total scattering cross section (Formula presented) is the same as its expression obtained from the scattered amplitude in the first Born approximation. (Formula presented) represents the direction of the scattered wave. This result has already been obtained, but presented in another form, in Refs. 2326

    • As noted in the Introduction, two-dimensional turbulence has recently become the object of renewed experimental interest 2021, and the latter two references may point out directions for the experimental verifications of the results and ideas put forth in the present paper. Also, given the well known isomorphism between acoustic waves in a slightly compressible vortical fluid and surface waves over a vortical liquid, a further experimental possibility comes to mind: study the interaction between surface waves and vertical vorticity in water tanks; see F. Vivanco, F. Melo, C. Coste, and F. Lund, Phys. Rev. Lett. 83, 1966 (1999).
