    • note
    • The problem of separating the γ→0 and ∈→0 limits (which are equivalent in the steady-state, at a given temperature, as explained in the main text) has been addressedin Ref. 26. To this end the Chapman-Enskog formulation is generalized in Ref. 26 to a transient case by allowing the homogeneity. The shear-rate γ (appropriately nondimensionalized) and ∈ are then employed as the (independent) small parameters of the expansion. The result of the formalism is that Eq. (55) in the above holds in general and that it reduces to Eq. (54) in the steady-state.
