Professor Barron, commenting as a referee, has been concerned that the term quasichirality might "reinforce the misapprehension of many chemists (and indeed physicists) that my dissymmetry (false chirality) "is a form of chirality". In Latin quasi means as if and quasichirality is to me (J. J.) something resembling chirality, seemingly but not actually chiral. (Let P. W. Atkins' "quasistatic motion" from his Physical Chemistry, 5th ed., Oxford University Press, 1994, p. 63, serve as an example.) As for Prof. Barron's suggestion that T-violation should also be included into the definition of quasichirality, I do not consider it advisable as (i) T-violation has been inferred but not yet proven and (ii) the main reason for introducing the EX operation into the definitions of chirality and quasichirality is that, without it, whenever enantiomers (or quasienantiomers) are mentioned, objects are (knowingly or unknowingly) dealt with, of which some (one half, to be exact) do not exist.
