    • The procedure employed here is inapplicable to inhibit hard-core overlap in the WDA. The nonlinear differential equation for the WDA weight function resulting from Eq. (13) for ψ ( ρ ) does not yield a stable solution. In the work of Ref. 35, the problem of overlapping hard spheres is bypassed by a constrained density parametrization.
