19. General procedure: To a solution of 4 mmol of 4 in ethanol/water (1:1, 10 mL) was added 2-aminopyridine 5 (4 mmol), and the mixture was refluxed for 1 h. After evaporation of the solvents in vacuo (bath temperature 50 °C), the resulting residue was dissolved in 2-propanol (20 mL) followed by cooling the stirred solution in an icebath and addition of perchloric acid (70 % in water, 4 mmol). The precipitate was filtered, dried in vacuo and recrystallized from methanol. For the compounds 3g-31 warming of the reaction mixture to 50-60 °C after addition of perchloric acid and hot filtration is necessary.
