4. The x-axis is chosen along the cylinder axis, according to the notation of Braun, to make it easy to compare with his papers. Almost every paper in the literature will define the z-axis along the cylinder axis, in order to fit the conventional definition of the cylindrical coordinate system as ρ, φ and z.
