37. Beside the 2:2 coupled products in all cases also larger assemblies, i.e. 3:3, 4:4 etc. coupled products, were observed in the FAB mass spectra of the crude reaction mixtures. However, no attempts were made to purify these products.
38. 4NCl as a template did not improve this, although in the first two cases small amounts (< 5%) of a 1:1 coupled product could be isolated.
