    • We ignore the envelope function penetration into the AlGaAs barriers, the main effect of which is 10 decrease the "effective" width of the spacer. The effect should only slightly decrease the presented mobilily results and the relative difference between the results with and without image charge should remain essentially the same. We nave verified these expectations within our sine envelope function model by using in the y direction also the sine wave functions about 3-4 nm wider dun that quoted in the ten (of course, still assuming the same wire geometry), which roughly simulates the spread of a more realitic envelope function into both AlGaAs barriers.
