The Lamphun Women's Health Centre, set up by a coalition of human rights organisations and labour and women's groups as established in 1998 with the objective of providing a centre which would meet the expressed needs of women workers for reproductive and occupational health and information and for skill training and education, including English and Japanese language, computer skills and business training. The Netherlands Organisation for Development Cooperation (NOVIB) and the Friends of Women Foundation have approved funding. This Centre draws on experience in organising women's health and training centres in the UK rather than directly on labour union experience.
