    • 3,2-edge XANES spectrum of the Fe metal may contain some contribution from oxidized surface Fe atoms. However, the general line shapes in the spectrum of the Fe metal are quite similar to those of the pure Fe thin film reported previously [see M. M. Schwickert, G. Y. Guo, M. A. Tomaz, W. L.
