    • The heater was made by evaporating 283 Å of gold on a 2 μm thick mylar foil that was stretched and mounted on an aluminum frame. The finished heater had a resistance of 5.1 Ω at 2 K. It was made in this way because of the demands of the second sound experiment that the cell was originally built for. The low thermal mass of the heater is not necessary for the SSPL technique.
