Interface Anal. 1, 2 (1979)] and on the thickness of the surface emission layer [see, Vavassori et. al (Ref. 6)]. On this basis a decomposition of the IPE spectra in terms of surface and bulk profiles has been performed and negligible differences are present between the UV (x-ray) and the surface (bulk) line shapes.
