In practice IL= 0 at θ = π / 2. The indeterminacy in Eq. (9) is a peculiarity of the assumption of equal coupling of the two barriers, which makes the critical currents of the two junctions equal at θ = π /2. For IJ1 != IJ2 , IL goes smoothly to zero as θ -> π /2.
