    • A couple of remarks on the Lyapunov exponent will not be out of place here. The vanishing of the Lyapunov exponent at a certain energy (E) does not necessarily imply that the state at that energy is extended. The state at that energy can also be critical [, ]. Furthermore, the positiveness of the Lyapunov exponent at a E does not constitute an unequivocal proof for the localization of the state (see Ref. 10). Inasmuch as the magnitude of the Lyapunov exponent is very small for energies close to the dimer energy (ε0), the second statement has a tremendous significance in the present work.
