In the spirit of a minimal model of phase separation in PSLC’s, we expect a square gradient functional to capture essential phenomena, provided that the interfaces are smooth and diffuse, as they are in our simulations. In the same spirit, we include thermal noise only in the initial conditions and neglect hydrodynamic effects. Both should be considered in very late stage coarsening, which is beyond the scope of the present paper.
