    • A word of explanation is useful here regarding the term "self-organisation". Gladyshev uses "self-assembly" for parts and "self-organisation" for an emerging higher system [58]. This is a clear and unambiguous use of these terms, but in our view the term "self-assembly" conveys a strong mechanical undertone and does not suggest mutual adaptation of the parts and hence dissolvence. For this reason, "self-organisation" is used here in both these meanings.
