    • All susceptibility data include a demagnetization correction. Given that the sample geometry cannot be accurately approximated by an ellipsoid of revolution, we expand the internal magnetic field as a function of the susceptibility, Hi= H0( a0+ a1χ + a2χ2+ ... ), where H0 is the applied measuring field. The coefficients an are fixed by comparison to Ht= 0 SQUID measurements on a long needle from the same single crystal of LiHo sub 0.167 Y sub 0.833 F sub 4_ (see Ref. 8). Values for the an fixed at one T (0.25 K) give the proper demagnetization correction for χ (f,T) at the five other temperatures available for comparison.
