8. 2SO (962 mg, 4.75 mmol), p-TsOH (20 mg, 0.119 mmol) and molecular sieves (4 Å) (400 mg) in dry toluene (2 g). The reaction mixture was heated to 100°C under stirring. After 5 h, the mixture was analyzed by gas chromatography; yield of benzaldehyde 99%.
