    • The reaction of 2 in a closed system with an equimolar amount of NO at room temperature overnight resulted in the formation of 3 in a few percent conversion while a large amount of 2 remained unreacted as monitored by IR spectroscopy. Since no appreciable new peak was observed in the IR v(CO) region under these conditions, the reaction of the assumed neutral hexanuclear bis(nitrosyl) complex with gaseous NO appears to be faster than its formation from 2 and NO.

    • With an equimolar amount of NO the reaction was too slow, and thus a large amount of unreacted material was recovered after 24 h.
