    • As follows from detail calculations by C.-R. Hu [, ], the bulk lower critical field is given by Hc1= ( φ0/ 4 π λ2) [ ln ( λ / ξ ) + 0.497 ]. On the other hand, in the London theory the value Hc1 can be presented in the form Hc1= ( φ0/ 4 π λ2) [ ln ( 2 λ / ξ ) - C + β ], where beta is a parameter which accounts for the core energy, β ( φ0/ 4 π λ )2, and C = 0.577 is the Euler constant. Hence β = 0.497 + C - ln 2 = 0.38.
