4. Of course, I am not the first to point to aesthetics in reference to the methodology of the human sciences. Most recently, F. R. Ankersmit. in his innovative study called Aesthetic Politics: Political Philosophy beyond Fact and Value (Stanford, 1996), has proposed considering political philosophy in terms of aesthetics, mentioning J. Chytry's The Aesthetic State: A Quest in Modern German Thought (Berkeley, 1989) as an examle of a work with a similar starting point (though with a different treatment of aesthetic inspiration: while Chytry identifies the aesthetic in human action with the desire to reach a harmonious synthesis, Ankersmit prefers to interpret it as a mosaic dispersal of elements [ Ankersmit, Aesthetic Politics, 17-18])
