    • We should mention that the pH of pure water decreases with increasing temperature (see, for example, ref 1), reaching a minimum value of ∼5.7 around 240 °C. In this range, the primary yields for gamma irradiation vary very little with pH (see refs 8 and 9). Those pH effects are taken into account in our simulations.
