    • In exploratory assays using benzophenone and anthracene we detected multiphoton processes by non-linear (power) fitting of the plot of photoacoustic signal against laser energy, although the linear fit was still quite acceptable (0.998 < r < 0.999). The correlation factor for the calibration compound (under the same laser fluence conditions) was invariably better than 0.9999.
