5. In many compounds which mimic the behavior of spin chains, it has often been found that there are many other interactions between spins, apart from the isotropic exchange interaction. These interactions could be anisotropies [generally of the form (Formula presented) when (Formula presented) is larger than (Formula presented) frustration, impurities, and interchain couplings.
