Note that in the context of weak field photoionization the usual practice of writing the Feynman diagrams, including the TS1 diagram, does not follow a definite direction of time (cf, e.g., [23]). The structure of the single-photon TS1 diagram is however topologically equivalent to the intense-field TS1 diagram (Fig. 4c), where a definite time direction is followed for the sake of a greater intuitive clarity.
