28. The designation of (R)-configuration of (S,R)-8a is a consequence of a change in substituent priority assignments. Since the reaction is assumed to proceed with inversion of the asymmetric carbon attached to the bromo substituent of 2a, (S,R)-8a is derived from (S,R)-2a.
