    • z spectrum is obtained by adding the two grazing emission spectra and then subtracting the normal emission spectrum.

    • All experimental spectra contain both inelastically and elastically scattered light. The elastically scattered light gives rise to a spectral feature at the excitation energy; this (elastic) peak must be subtracted away from the inelastic contributions. We use a Voigt function, approximating the monochromator function. It is clear that an insufficient subtraction procedure may create artificial spectral features right at the Fermi level and we can thus not completely rule out this possibility.
