    • Both, Phys. R, 64, 926 (1990), and, ibid. 64, 1745 (1990), have recently observed this finite temperature phase transition in computer simulations of modified ballistic deposition models in 3+1 dimensions. Similarly, studying the thermal properties of directed polymers in a random medium, apparently note the very same transition in their numerical transfer matrix studies. Surprisingly, all three groups seem to see a transition in 2+1 dimensions as well. Regarding the latter it has been stressed by M. Kosterlitz (private communication) that these suggestions are potentially inconsistent with the nature of the RG flows as directed by the dynamic renormalization group of KPZ.

    • The author thanks J. Krug for drawing his attention to several typographic errors in the RG flow equation as recorded in Ref. 23. The correct terms are written down here.
