14. In previously published work [11], we reported a smaller value than that presented here. In our earlier measurement the pump beam was tightly focused into the pipette containing Coumarin-314 such that significant stimulated emission resulted in an apparently shorter upper state lifetime. For this measurement we have reduced the pump fluence such that the lifetime appears to be independent of the excitation fluence. We are not aware of any reported lifetime for this dye in the literature
