    • The similar packing mode as illustrated in Figure 2 has been suggested by J.-H. Fuhrhop et al. (e.g., Fuhrhop, J.-H.; Binding, U.; Siggel, U. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1993, 115, 11036) and Y.-C. Lin in his Ph. D. Thesis (Georgetown University, 1987). In these models the size of the cross section is predicted to be one or two times the length of a single molecule. The discrepancy is probably rationalized as such that several single-molecular chains are twisted together into a strand observed by electron microscopy.
