    • In the non-Hermitian form of perturbation theory, resulting from the choice of intermediate normalization, already the fifth order of perturbation theory contains quadruple excitations which could be classified as triple excitations in a Hermitian formulation. The fifth order also contains triple excitations, which might be classified as single and double excitations in a more symmetric treatment.
