The main band of the Soret band region of 1c appears to be very strong. Note, however, that the n-π* transition of the ether oxygen lone pairs is included in the wings of the main band, as can be judged from the absorption spectrum of 3c in the 380-500 nm region. Therefore the real main band of the Soret band region is weaker than observed.
