    • The excitation spectral correction in our instrument appears to degrade in quality at shorter wavelengths. The So -52 band of the aminonaphthalimide fluorophore is weaker than expected from its absorption spectrum. Therefore 387 nm (the 0-0 vibrational band position of the anthracene unit) and 410 nm (the absorption maximum of the aminonaphthalimide unit where anthracene is transparent) were the wavelengths used to compare the excitation and absorption spectra. The error would be larger if 367 nm (the 0-1 vibrational band position of the anthracene unit) was used due to the greater separation from 410 nm.
