    • Some typical values of the percentage correlation energy are 63% for Be2+ (Ref. 2) with a HF-J function, 38% for Be (Ref. 2) with HF-J function, 79% for Be (Ref. 2) with a MCSCF-J function, 17% for H2O (Ref. 1) with a HF-J function. The corresponding percentages in a diffusion MC calculation, with the same wave functions, are 98.5%, 88%, 98%, and 84%.
