    • Thermolysis of certain complexes of the type LnM(alkyl)(H) leads to intramolecular scrambling of the the metal hydride with the α-hydrogens of the alkyl ligands. This scrambling is proposed to occur via a σ-alkane complex which, in contrast to these silane complexes, rapidly interchanges “bridged” and “terminal” hydrogens. For leading references see
